As at 7 August 2024, the National Anti-Corruption Commission (the Commission):
- is conducting 29 preliminary investigations
- is conducting 29 corruption investigations, including 8 joint investigations
- is overseeing or monitoring 19 investigations by other agencies
- has 6 matters before the court
- has 425 referrals pending assessment.
Over the period from 1 July 2024 to midnight Sunday 4 August 2024, the Commission:
- received 226 referrals
- excluded 197 referrals at triage stage.

Commissioner keynote on website
The Hon Paul Brereton AM RFD SC, National Anti-Corruption Commissioner, delivered a keynote address at the Australian Public Sector Anti-Corruption Conference in Darwin on 31 July 2024.
The keynote, titled The National Anti-Corruption Commission: One year on, covers a range of subjects including the Commission’s origins, purpose and mission, jurisdiction, issues and operations to date.
